This little booklet is concise and compassionate at the same time, giving detailed description of what to expect as your animal friend nears the end of life, and ways you can help ease their transition. And Ms. Pope certainly knows of what she speaks, as she and her husband have run Brighthaven, a most lovely sanctuary for elderly and special-needs animals, for over 25 years. In that time, they have cared for hundreds of animals with holistic and nutritional support and an abundance of love, honoring them not only in life but in death as well. In "Soar, My Butterfly," Ms. Pope now shares the distillation of what they have learned from the animals' dying processes. As more and more pet-owners consider their pets part of the family until "death do us part," this book is absolutely invaluable.
