The home inspection process and report is often difficult for the consumer to comprehend and understand. Michael's book is written in a simple, easy, and conversational format detailing all aspects of the home inspection. He turned out not to be very thorough. He was a great choice for my agent as she did not want the deal to go sour. This easy-to-read guide helps buyers/sellers understand the value of a good home inspection, and understanding the relationship the inspector may have with other parties. Your house is likely the most expensive purchase you will make. This book cost less than a fast food lunch, and but can save you thousands of dollars and years of grief. It will help you choose your inspector, and better understand the home inspection process. The real anecdotes also make it more interesting and enjoyable.

Bottom line By MichaelRaySmith I met Michael Ray Allen at Charlotte-area writer's conference where I taught a writing seminar on getting published. Here's the note he just sent me. "I remember that I got the most from your session at a writer's workshop several years ago at Southern Evangelical Seminary," he said. And he did it. Here's the cover of his book and so on. I read Mr. Allen's breezy work and found it to be just the ticket for people who are selling or buying houses. Lots of great ideas. Bottom line. Hire a certified pro to inspect your house before you buy or sell. You won't regret it. (And that goes for new construction too!)
