About the Author After leaving college, Saskia Abel worked in publishing. After the birth of her daughter she rediscovered her enthusiasm for sewing and opened an online shop: de.dawanda.com/shop/fraeulein-emma, selling her handmade purses and small bags. She also teaches a course at a local adult education center.

By C Smitty I enjoyed this book for several reasons:The intro lists the level of difficulty for each project by hearts: one heart-quick and easy, two hearts-requires a little practice, and three hearts-more challenging.Secondly, all of the pictures are in colorThe print size isn't too large or too small: perfect!It also lists materials needed,sewing basics, and even a basic techniques section where the author shows you how to insert a zipper, how to use bias binding (most project books assume this knowledge)--all of this before you get to any project.I also like the fact that the publishers give a "spread" of all of the projects so that if you chose, you can go directly to whatever you'd like to start first.The directions are very clear, concise and organized.The patterns for every project is located in the back with layout instructions.With the holiday season quickly approaching, this book would not only make the perfect gift, but also the projects would be perfect for birthdays, holidays, any day.I highly recommend this book. :-)
