By Maureen Shilko My Mom who is 87 and suffering from dementia Loves this coloring book especially the trees.I think the way it is done eases her because the pictures flow.She enjoys the lanscapes so much.She colors them the way she wants and likes the idea that she has that choice.

I have searched through many (believe me!) to find the one that doesn't drive you crazy with designs that are way too intricate and fine which seem impossible to do and just make me feel anxious and inadequate (I'm not an artist, remember?; that's why I bought a coloring book - to relax!) These scenes are more loosely composed and, yes, some imagination is required and you can add details if you like, but this is what, for me, makes it mindful. After doing a scene for a while, I find myself seeing the world in a different light. I am looking for patterns, colors and shadings. To me this is exactly what a mindfulness coloring book should do: make one more aware of the present moment. I'm a psychotherapist and teach mindfulness. After I got this as birthday gift, I bought several for my family, friends and use in my practice.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. not like anyone else By Donna Deal This is outstanding; rather than prepared drawings to be colored in, these are simply line drawings... that can be filled in, or altered or interpreted any way the artist chooses. YOU have control of what the image is, and using various or mixed media, a totally different creation results. What you do, how to do it is unique, not like anyone else.This is particularly fulfilling for stress, for those with cognitive issues, those with emotional issues, and those who enjoy 'coloring outside the lines.'Working on each page isn't something quickly accomplished but can take forethought, planning, and expansion of perspective. It certainly reduces stress through mindfulness and distraction. More books like this. Very well done.
