Review "Rooms For Living illustrates the designer's skilled touch room by room - inviting antiques-filled entry halls, comfortable but rigorously curated living rooms; and welcoming dining rooms, including one that conjures a garden, with wall murals and hand-painted porcelain." -ELLE DECOR"Much in keeping with the design style that Rheinstein is known for, whether designing homes on both coasts or through her many fabric and furniture lines, there is a timeless elegance that is associated with her work. . . . no detail, however small, is overlooked."-California Home & Design Online"Attention to subtle detail, proportion and texture are evident in all [Rheinstein's] designs . . . From entrance halls to powder rooms, Rheinstein offers inspiration and advice on how to live with beauty and comfort throughout your home." -Quintessence Blog  "It seems appropriate, then, that Suzanne Rheinstein, a designer known for creating comfortable and gracious interiors, would christen her latest book, Rooms for Living.  Peruse her work in this inspiring book, and you'll see that her rooms are never contrived nor affected.  Instead, they are big, beautiful invitations for living, offering themselves up as spots for relaxing, for example, or entertaining."-PEAK OF CHIC BLOG

The New Suzanne By A Book Collector As a designer known for her clean and timeless interiors, Suzanne Rheinstein has a following that makes her a fail-proof author of books filled with her work. This new volume is no exception. Beautifully photographed by Pieter Estersohn and artfully published, it presents a number of newer projects in the designer's repertoire, most of which have not been seen before. As in her previous book we are again treated to her singular vision and apparently-effortless creation of livable interiors. On inspection, it's clear to see why the cover shot was chosen as that room and all its elements are truly wonderful, and certainly the best in show here. That aside, it must also be noted that Ms. Rheinstein's aesthetic appears to be shifting more toward the spare, off-white, and contemporary. In most projects presented here, the layers, evidence of lives being lived, are conspicuously absent as are the deftly-handled variety of colors. Some of this difference may involve the fact that the earlier book included two of her own elegant homes, and it's difficult for a designer to create a "collected-over-years" look for a client who hasn't or doesn't share the interest. Or it may be that she is simply responding to her clients' requests in this regard, both being swept along by the current tabula rasa design mania. It's not necessarily bad, but one can't help wondering if these rooms will endure the test of time as gracefully when compared to her earlier-published, much more classic work which stood out from the rest of the field. We'll have to wait to know, but in the meantime, Ms. Rheinstein, please give us more of Book #1.

But most of the rooms are just...beige. Nicely appointed, tasteful, often quite pretty, but sooooooo beige. The teasers were brightly colored and fresh...the rest is lovely, but very very bland.

By Amazon Customer This is a book I will go back to time and time again! Suzanne Rheinstein has such good taste - her interiors are classic and beautiful and calm. Her work is traditional but with a special flair. She mixes antiques with painted finishes and interesting objects resulting in warm and welcoming rooms. I love this book.
