I read through it before I gave it to her as a gift to make sure I wasn't giving something lame. This book is a terrific resource for horses in general and for the American Quarter Horse. I may not be for advanced readers who have owned horses for a long time, but is informative for beginners.

If you are looking for a good book about horses, this is a wonderful guide to help you get started. The author's writing style is friendly and encouraging which makes for an enjoyable and easy read.This book simply tells you what you need to know. It's a `no fluff' guide that just gets straight to the point. Quite simply, it tells you what you need to know without drowning the reader in unnecessary jargon. It gets straight to the point and doesn't bog down the reader with useless page fillers.This is a very well presented book and, in my opinion, would be an excellent resource for beginners. For anyone contemplating buying and rearing these magnificent animals, this book would be the place to start.It's always a pleasure reading something by an author who knows exactly what they're talking about! This is a very informative and straightforward read. It would also make a great gift for anybody who knows somebody who is interested in horses.I would highly recommend this as a lovely informative and straightforward read.
