It's a beautiful book with wonderful color photographs and clear instructions, and Mickey's writings and explanations of each quilt are entertaining and fun. There are quilts for every level of quilter, from beginner to easy to intermediate to advanced. Plus there are pictures of how you can vary the blocks so you can make the quilt your own.Mickey calls this book "Half-Scrap Quilts" because the quilts are scrappy, and there are also a few constant fabrics throughout each quilt. I will be making each quilt in this book, beginning with the first one called "Simply Midwest", which has blocks that Mickey calls ghost blocks! Each of the quilts in this book are bright, colorful, wonderful and happy. So buy this book, dig into your stash, find a few constants, and you're good to go.

Sullivan I have read this book from cover to cover already and I love it. I especially love the story for each quilt as it gives each quilt a really personal touch. I love the colorful diagrams and how descriptive the directions are. Thank you Mickey for all the attention to detail you have provided!!! I am looking forward to making my first quilt from this book.....for now, that choice is WaBash....

By Dena Martin Mickey Depre has done an excellent job of writing clear and concise directions for each of the quilts in her newly released Half-Scrap Quilts book. Her technique of combining common blocks while adding her own twist captures the interest of new and experienced quilters to make spectacular quilts.
