It covers everything from fungus/bacterial infection types to saving dying orchids. It even covers remedy's for nuisance and dangerous bugs attracted to orchids, ( beetles, white fleas, etc.) and gives remedies to keep these things from destroying your beautiful flowers. The most helpful for me was the information on potting soil types. There are "recipes" for different mixes based on the Orchid type you are selecting! Very helpful when deciding where to start in the garden center when getting supplies. Don't be intimidated by the "advanced Guide title" The information is easy to digest and even if you have no prior experience in gardening at all, you will still be able to plant and grow healthy gorgeous Orchids.

I have always wanted to have one at home but I didn't have any idea on how to take care of it! Last week my mother in law came from Venezuela and got to bring a beautiful orchid for us! So I went as fast as I could and I saw this book on amazon and I had to get it! And thanks God I did, this book has great tips and tricks on how to do and appropriated care of this kind of flowers what kind of light do they need and how much water. It also have a great list of the different orchids that are out there! I really think this book is the book to have is you have an orchid!

When the flower fell off, she brought it home to me with the instructions, "take care of it." I am a gardener, but had never worked with orchids, so was very happy to find this book from Miranda Ross. I had used one of her books before, so knew I could trust her for good, clear information. And she came through again. I learned a lot about orchids. Better, I learned what I needed to keep this one alive and growing, anticipating another nice bloom next year.
