3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Excellent Reprint By Shela Simpson I purchased this book for information on mourning fashions and their construction. This is a reprint of a book from about the mid-1900's more or less. If you are looking for a book with information on how to construct mourning millinery I would recommend this book. It assumes some very basic millinery experience, but nothing substantial, and if you follow the written directions, supplement with the ink drawings, you will end up with an accurate protray of mourning millinery. There is a series of these millinery reprints and I have found the majority of them to be very helpful in the area of construction. There are many techniques used then and now which help you to fill the gaps in your knowledge, answering the question of 'how did they do that' in easy to understand directions. Once you have the basic knowledge of how to construct the various millinery shapes you can create period appropriate millinery for a wide range of time spans. I highly recommend these little books, for the price the information provided on these pages makes them an outstanding value.
