Lugo-Ortiz Esta novela parecía tener mucho potencial, pero derivó hacia un melodrama burgués cursi insoportable. El final me pareció sacado de "The Da Vinci Code", y no lo digo para no aguarles la (mala) fiesta a los potenciales lectores. Es una novela totalmente prescindible. Me pregunto qué criterios tenían los jueces del Premio Alfaguara, o si la competencia era tan mala.

Inicia con una idea de suspense pero es lo que menos tiene esa novela. Luego saca dos historias que tratan de generar más interés, pero sin lograr que sea una novela digna de quitarme el sueño. La autora no explota el antisemitismo como yo pensé que lo haría y solo hace un esbozo en un par de acontecimientos sin mucha importancia.

By edward g. roberts Desde la primera página de esta novela, no podía dejarme de leerla... me enganchó tanto la trama entretenida y los personajes convincentes. Por necesidad la trama es complicada, pero fácil de entender y seguir a causa de la habilidad de la autora y su excelente estilo de escribir. Nunca, jamás, habría predicho el desenlace que me abrumó tanto al final. Hay varias escenas en esta novela que me conmovieron bastante como ese primer encuentro entre Vera y Horacio en Nueva York durante un fin de semana nevado que me apareció tan real que casi me sentí estar allí. ¡No se pueda perder esta obra fascinante!
