About the Author Award-winning interior designer Kit Kemp is known for her stylish and witty interiors. With her husband, Tim, she owns Firmdale, a group of luxury hotels in London and New York, including the Crosby Street Hotel, and with a second hotel opening in New York in 2016. She has collaborated with Anthropologie, Wedgwood dinnerware, Chelsea Textiles, Christopher Farr, and more to produce a range of products.

Books about contemporary art quilts, or even History of Costume will ignite my own ideas and give me a jumpstart. But, once in a while, a home décor book will make me absolutely salivate. This book is a perfect example. Ms. Kemp specializes in the kind of design approach (whether interiors or products) that seems to say: "I am passionate about this. I fell in love with it, and I want YOU to enjoy it also". Her color choices, her recognition of ethnic artifacts, her eclecticism and her spot-on-totally-original choices are so appealing. Almost every spread in this book provided a flashpoint of inspiration. A close-up of a fascinating textile, an amazing juxtaposition of unusual colors, unexpected offbeat materials, a very modern flair for folk art, etc. This book excited my eyes, and touched my heart. Originality PLUS.

By Ann Williams Beautiful book of amazing design, as expected, but there seems to be a big oversight/mistake right at the beginning of the book. The chapter "Intelligent Thread" has several pages repeated and at one point the pages jump from 63 back to 49,50,51.....and photos and text are duplicated. I love Kit Kemp's work and am guessing she needs to have a chat with whoever did the final edit of her lovely book!
