Holt The large format and the simply written story suggest that this book was written for the children's market. However, there is a serious message included within its large print and wonderful color photographs. The true story of Bumper the chow chow should convince anyone who is considering fostering or adopting a dog that they will be rewarded for their generosity. Bumper experienced a lot of setbacks in her life, but she persevered and triumphed with the help of her many friends. The book illustrates what can be achieved when a dog who won't give up on herself meets a caring group of like-minded humans.
