1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Not just charming By Carol It's a cliche to say that a cat story is "charming." This one is, and much more. It has a slight undertone of tragedy as readers realize the very real dangers faced by this feline who insists on living outdoors—except, of course, when she wishes to be super-civilized. And although the story is technically about a cat, its portraits of the human companions are also telling. There's a lot of sensitive inter-species interaction in this tail, oops, tale. And the wordplay and puns add spice. May you live forever, Luna.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Funny and Erudite Book about a Unique Individual Who Happens to be a Cat By JFS3 A wonderful piece! Tom's writing is so clean and evocative, and gives a loving yet unsentimental portrait of a unique and quirky individual, with erudition, humor, context, and without losing sight of her feral, non-human essence. As a former cat owner for 17 years, I had forgotten the personal force-field that a cat can project onto a house and family without seeming to try. I highly recommend this to cat lovers, and those who are at best indifferent to them.

In a relaxed and pleasing style, the author chronicles this transformational relationship. Engaging the reader with anecdotes, both moving and amusing, he reveals how a special cat brings a surprising amount of pleasure to her devoted human family. This non cat-owning reader came away feeling that life could be substantially enhanced with a cat like Luna to love.
