It may be short but is "real", totally honest, and packed with useful information and practical advice - and with humour, which doesn't hurt! Everyone who lives with a dog should read it to be better prepared and keep it for when the time comes - everyone with a senior dog needs it straight away of course! I've read several books about senior dogs but this is the one I found most helpful - no surprise as it comes from many years of taking care of lots of old dogs. They deserve the very best we can give to them.

Having the pleasure of seeing several dogs to ripe old ages of 18 and 19 years old, I have seen the challenges that arise. I even had one dear one, flat line on me after experiencing an embolism during a stressful grooming incident…but she was just not ready to go, and "came back," the vet said, after they'd told me she'd "gone." Lived another 2 years til she died peacefully in her sleep. These authors lovingly capture the various specific matters an owner needs to take into consideration, great suggestions and clearly knowledge from experience, dedication to wellness of animals, and generous hearts. Thank you for writing this wonderful book!!!

Helpful, Honest, Loving Advice By Charlotte Booker As I read this little book I kept thinking how lucky the dogs at this Sanctuary are--and that other old animals and old people should be so well cared for, too!These authors really know their stuff. I don't think I've ever seen this much wisdom and practical knowledge in once small volume, and I recognized my mistakes in so many of the situations I wish I had had it years ago.If you've loved and lost an aging pup, you'll want to read this before your new best friend gets old.I'm sure I'll be reading it again and again.
