This is a beautifully photographed manual with clear steps and helpful tips that will have you completing the projects for yourself or giving them as lovely holiday presents. There are other books on the market that claim to be "beginner" knitting books but this one is truly geared for the novice with projects that are both realistic and appealing. If you have always wanted to learn to knit and create beautiful handmade gear for yourself or your friends and family this is the book for you!!!!

I've tried other beginner books before, and there's always a couple times when the author calls for a mysterious loop or tuck that doesn't make any sense. With this book, each step is explained clearly and accompanied by a photo, so a beginner can actually see and understand what's happening with the yarn and needles. It's well-written and beautifully shot, and the projects are simple yet still hip and stylish. Appropriate for all ages - anyone that's ever wanted to try knitting will have success with this book!

The step by step instructions and clear, detailed pictures are very helpful! I hadn't used many of these techniques before and found it easy to use and was able to complete the projects. The book is a great purchase for anyone beginning to knit or someone looking for helpful reminders i.e. how to cast off (or end a project). I plan to purchase this book and send it along with a set of needles and yarn for a friend interested in learning to knit. I'm sure she will be delighted to use the book learn too!
