About the Author Diana has always been a cat lover. Over the years she and her family have been privileged to share their lives with eleven kitties. She grew up in Africa, later moving to the United States, where she attended college and pursued a career as a journalist and environmental writer. Diana is the mother of four daughters and a stepson, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is the author of Lumpy the Elephant, a children’s picture book, and a romantic-suspense novel, Shadows along the Zambezi; a story of a couple struggling to protect Zimbabwe’s elephants from ivory poachers and corrupt government officials. Mom’s Cat Stories is her first memoir. Because time has a way of fading precious memories, she decided that she needed to tell their stories.

She is truly a Mom who loves her cats and finds great joy caring for them. It gives each one their own identity and life story. For my great-grand daughter it shows the different personalities and habits all animals portray.I liked it because it gave a realistic life of the cats. The joy and the sorrow in loving and raising a pet. I would recommend the book to all cat lovers who considered themselves Mom's or Dad's to their feline friends.

In this delightful memoir (to be enjoyed by children and adults alike), Diana Hawkins has brought all the memories of those never to be forgotten feline friends flooding back in her concise and colourful account of her life with her own cats. Each and every one so fondly described; their idiosyncrasies, characters and individuality as different as their photographs portray. I love dogs too but if you've never owned a cat, or should I say, if a cat has never owned you, after you've read these real life experiences you'll be on the look out to fast becoming 'adopted' yourself. Featuring Zimbabwe and American cats makes this gem of a book unique. My Funny Africa Veiled Madness CheckmateMy Funny Africa

She has kept cats as pets for most if not all her life, and each and every cat has left an indelible print on her heart. These true stories illustrate the happy and sad experiences she has had with her cats, some of which are so heartbreaking they brought more than a few tears to my eyes. Review by Trish Jackson, author of 13 published works including 7 romantic suspense novels.I received a copy in return for an honest review.
