My street cat Sabrina came to me in terrible physical condition, malnourished and with her coat matted and falling out. She has enriched my life with her intelligence, loyalty and mischievous personality ever since and I have often wondered how she came to be alone in the streets. This little book is not Sabrina's real story. Since she can't talk human I'll never know what really happened to her. Instead I have created a work of fiction, but it is based on events that befall the kittens and cats living on the streets in cities the world over every day. I hope you enjoy this little book and the photos I have included. Rescue cats, as anyone who has one will tell you, are a very special type of cat. Once you have one of your own you will never again have any other type of cat.

Actually, Sheryl Lee did what I planned to do some time ago; she came up with a fictitious story what happened to her cat Sabrina before she adopted her.Sheryl lives in Egypt, where street cats live on every corner. She is one of the good hearted people, who care about the tiny fur balls. Too often these kittens become orphans too early; many of them get killed. Not so kitten Sabrina.Sheryl comes up with a very plausible story of how Sabrina managed to survive after she got separated from her mother first and later from her siblings. Eventually, Sabrina gets adopted by Sheryl and even gets a “bro” named Amadeus. Their story has a happy ending.The story resonated with me because I too adopted two cats, first a baby kitten named Artemis, and a year later Ying-Yang, so Artemis would have a companion.What makes this book outstanding is that Sheryl does not stop with telling the story; she added an afterword, showing real pictures of real stray cats in Egypt. She points out what should be done to curb the problem.The following paragraph from the book will resonate with every adoptive parent of any pet,“… That she still approached the woman who found her tells a great deal about her capacity for love. Lots of graphic descriptions to help the reader really picture the location and actual events unfolding. I liked it so much I bought another book by this author and love it too.
