22 of 22 people found the following review helpful. Good style By Jonathan Went through the book and looks pretty good. Really nice you can mix the patterns to suit your style. Gives step by step for each pattern. Downside is you have to print out the pattern.
10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Lovely patterns, practical approach to dressmaking By Wookie1110 This is a really beautiful book and the concept is quite clever. There are five bodices, five skirts, and five sleeves that can be mixed and matched to make many different dress designs. There are instructions for each bodice, skirt, and sleeve, and a final chapter that focuses on techniques to put them all together. This would be a great book for someone who's sewn a few patterns and wants to develop the confidence to mix and match patterns effectively on their own. The designs are romantic and sweet, very much in line with the Victory Patterns aesthetic, if you are familiar with the author's pattern line.

While I am also a fan of the many "skater"-esque/fit-and-flare dress patterns out there (and indeed buy them alllllll up as soon as they hit the internet), this book is a breath of fresh air with fashion-forward designs, gorgeously creative styling, and basically a book full of looks that the indie pattern world has not yet seen. Not just a book with one or two new looks, a WHOLE BOOKLOAD OF NEW DESIGNS! I was amazed that one designer could come up with so much innovation! Seriously, buy this book.
