I fell in love with the relaxing habit of coloring an intricate page at the end of the day, with TV on in the background. I picked this one up because I was intrigued by the concept of including a journal within the coloring book. I have always been an inconsistent journaler, but this is a nice way to give me my nightly coloring, and then to remind me to jot down some of the events of the day. There is a lot of space to write, which is nice. It is not all coloring pages with just a couple lines at the bottom- it includes pull pages of lines in between the coloring pages. The birds included are absolutely beautiful. They are drawn wonderfully, with plenty of different options of birds to draw. The variations keep things interesting while drawing a series of birds, with so many different options to color these designs. I think this would be a perfect gift for someone who enjoys bird-watching! They could color the pages while waiting in the park or at home, and then write down any birds they saw during the day! If you like coloring items of nature with space to write, you’ll love this option.

But this book goes beyond those by combining a handy journal with beautiful bird coloring illustrations. This is the perfect book for anyone who keeps a notebook or wants something for school or work where they can take notes and de-stress all in the same place.

Listening to music, drinking a cup of hot tea and coloring has been a great way for me to decompress at the end of the day. This book has beautiful detailed and realistic birds; just adding flat colors brings these birds to life. These designs make it easy to create a beautiful, realistic depiction of what I believe are real birds. There are a couple of birds I know are not real, but I wish they identified the birds that are.With this book not only can you color some incredible birds, you can journal your thoughts. This is a 6 month journey of coloring and journaling. It gives you plenty of space to write down all your thoughts and feeling. It’s a beautiful bird diary. After the 6 months you’ll have a keepsake and treasured memory.This would be a great gift for a person who loves birds and needs a relaxing activity after a stressful day at work or someone that just loves to color.
