About the Author Deborah Newton is one of the top knitwear designers working today. She has been selling her designs to magazines, the yarn industry, and Seventh Avenue for more than 25 years. She also writes a popular fit and design column for Vogue® Knitting and teaches regularly at Vogue® Knitting Live. Her first book, the classic reference work Designing Knitwear (Taunton Press) has been in print since 1990. She lives in Providence, RI.

Deborah addresses all the nuances and variety of the human body, not just the general outline of hourglass, rectangle or pear shape. Depth of arm from shoulder to underarm, neck width, variation of width between front of body vs. back, are all considered and much more. No wonder she has been so perennially successful. She considers everything. I recommend this book to anyone interested in improving the quality of their garment knitting with each successive project, particularly sweaters, that they make.
