By Carla Randall The author shares her expertise and opinions on how a variety of yarns behave as you use them to make garments . She includes labs to lead knitters into developing their own expertise with a variety of yarns and needle sizes. I don't typically knit swatches (I don't take practice swings in golf either) but the author provides great rationale for doing so. As a result of reading this book I am going to knit swatches now. You do have to look past several editing errors, but reading this book feels like you are sitting in a yarn store talking to someone with extensive experience. There are 5 knitting patterns included in the book..
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Clear & Concise Information on Color and Texture! By Nancy Wolf I almost gave this book 4 stars because I thought... "It only shares a few secrets." Then I remembered the size (and price of the book) and gave it 5 stars the valuable information it does share. I am an advanced knitter in some things and a beginner in others. Color and texture are definitely weak areas for me so I found this book very helpful. I hope she makes this a series; if so, I will be following them!
