Lady and Jeanne Maxon share daily sunrise beach walks, a king-size bed, an aging Subaru, and their hearts with a second wonderful golden retriever, Bode. All three spear head a nonprofit therapy dog program that brings smiles and furry compassion to people across the coastal Carolinas.
A retired public affairs professional, Jeanne still enjoys collaborating with exceptional creatives such as her coauthor, Lady. Nearly as passionate about golf as she is about dogs, for twelve years she reigned as ladies champion of her club. The three-pack live in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Heart warming great read! By Pete's Automotive We enjoyed the book so much we've provided it in our waiting room for customers. Nice format for those with busy lives and I love that it is written from the Dog's point of view about her first year from lonely and alone to receiving and giving lots of love. You will laugh out loud and maybe even shed a tear or two. Having read other books narrated by the canine I can honestly say I am happy to say the dog and the humans all live happily ever after. Take a chance on this new author, you won't be disappointed.

Marko I loved the dog, the rescue of the dog and her becoming a service dog, and the fact that the book was written as if a diary by the dog. It was fun and easy reading and an upbeat book that left me with a positive mood, which I needed at the time I read it.

Jeanne’s tongue-in-cheek writing brings both smiles and tears. It’s easy to see what a gift Jeanne has with her pack, what a wonderful dog Lady has become, and how Lady has brought joy to so many people. A great read!
