The advise is to go buy stamps at stamp clubs, this is declining and internet buying on ebay and other sites is a much better idea. Also the language is old english and does not relate well to todays youth and the photos are not in color and look like horrible copied images from old stamp albums. I do not recommend this as it will no add at all to you knowledge of stamps, its general outdated informationI recommend Rare Stamp Experts Catalogs and Official Training Guide

By Amazon Customer Reviewers who consider this to be "outdated" are exactly right--and they miss the whole point. It's certainly "out-of-date" (copyrighted 1902), which is why it's an historical treasure for serious students of stamp collecting. To me, it beautifully describes the roots of my own personal enjoyment of collecting international postage stamps. The historical background information contained here is very important.
