By Angie Thompson I purchased a copy of this book from Amazon after seeing several of Karim's drawings shared in other groups and on his FB page. He also has shared free coloring pages with my coloring group on FB, International Coloring Club.This book has a silky touch cover, which is unimportant, but I liked it! There are 25 images to color in and the pages are single sided. The book is printed on quality paper, no pilling when colored with markers. Like most books, you will need to slide an extra sheet of paper between the pages to avoid bleeding onto the next. The images are placed in good position on the pages and they don't run into the "gutter" where the pagers are bound into the spine of the book.The artwork in this book is just beautiful. These mandalas are very original and not all are the traditional circle shape. Designs very from some very pretty flower designs to some intricate pattern designs that I haven't ever seen anywhere else. When I got the book and thumbed through, I found myself wanting to color every single design, which doesn't happen all the time for me. I really, really like this book and will be adding the rest of Karim's books to my ever growing wish list! I have all three Patterns books and this one and over time, I'll be colouring virtually every design. There aren't many colouring books that I can say that about. I like that the designs aren't too fussy with bows and other messy, fiddly details. Instead Karim gives us strong design with wide lines suitable for using markers on. The opportunity is always there to add your own detail and to blend colours. Make these mandalas your own. Watch out for this young designer's future work.
